How To

How to make a perfect omelet

Omelets are a favorite breakfast food of mine. How do you make them perfect? I've tried many recipes and different methods but none have worked. So today, I want to share some tips and tricks with you so you can make your own delicious and fluffy omelets every morning.

First, eggs can be very temperamental ingredients for making omelets. It is important that eggs are fresh from an organic market and kept cool until used. If you don't keep them cold enough, the whites won't form properly, and the yolks will break down too much and become runny. This causes your omelets to look oddly colored. If you're going to cook them immediately, it is best if the eggs are still warm.

You might also try separating the egg before adding to the pan. It is important not to allow any white to mix with the yolk as this could lead to the omelet becoming curdled.

You might burn the bottom of the egg if you place the egg directly on the stovetop. This could ruin the texture of your omelet. Instead, heat the egg for 10 seconds in the microwave before placing it in the pan. The microwave heat cooks your egg just right, without it becoming too soft.

Let's now talk about mixing eggs. You want to mix the eggs thoroughly before you add them. To do this, take the bowl from the mixer and flip it upside-down. Next, shake the bowl vigorously. This will whip the air around the bowl and mix the egg well.

Now comes the fun part - pouring the milk into the mixture. The first step is to pour half of the milk in the beaten eggs. Next, fold the eggs into the remaining milk. Do not be alarmed if there are still egg streaks visible. Once the omelet flips, these streaks will disappear.

After folding the eggs fold the pan onto medium heat. When the oil starts to hot, wait for the pan to cook. Once the oil begins to heat, add 1/4 cup butter and swirl the pan to coat it. Carefully open the pan's lid and add salt to the pan. A pinch of salt will help prevent the omelet from sticking to the pan.

Cover the pan once the omelet is formed and allow it to cool completely. Use a spatula to flip the omelet or turn the pan upside-down. Cook the other half for another minute. Take out the omelet and place it in a bowl.

This recipe is best when used with whole milk. But, you can use skimmed milk as well.
